Pear Cinnamon Oat Crumble
Time to do the crumble. A traditional crumble always called for apples but in this update it’s smooth pear that combines with the spicy cinnamon. The chemistry is so noticeable your apples might start feeling jealous.
Ingredients
- 6 cups peeled, thinly sliced firm-ripe pears or Granny Smith apples
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup Large Flake Quaker® Oats or Quick Quaker® Oats (uncooked)
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds (optional)
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, combine pears and water. Add sugar, flour and cinnamon; stir until fruit is evenly coated. Spoon into 8-inch square glass baking dish.
- In medium bowl, combine topping ingredients except ice cream; mix well. Sprinkle evenly over pears.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until pears are tender. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
